Steve Tilson praised Lee Barnard's rich vein of form, as Southend United won 2-1 at home to Bristol Rovers.
Tilson felt that the Blues were worthy of the three points, but admitted his concern about the need to keep players fit, with Anthony Grant forced to play at centre half today.
Franck Moussa came off with a late knock and there was bad news regarding Jean-Yves M'Voto, with the defender set for an extended spell on the sidelines for potentially up to six weeks.
"It was a fantastic result for us and I thought we deserved the win," Steve told Blues Player.
"Barney has now got 12 goals for the season and that is a great return.
"With Barney, the important thing this year is staying fit and hopefully, the goals will keep coming.
"We should have had a penalty in the first half when Dougie was pushed over in the box and if we had got that, going two nil up at half time might have made it easier.
"But we played some good stuff at times and worked hard.
"There were a few scary moments at the death, but we still created our own chances and could have won by a bigger moment.
"Right now, I'll take the three points and move on.
"It's all about keeping players fit at the moment. Franck has taken a nasty knock at the end and we've had to play Granty at centre-back.
"We were down to the bare bones and didn't have many other options, so it is all about doing a job.
"Jean-Yves M'Voto has gone for an MRI scan and it's not good news. He has bruising in a joint and could be out for six weeks.
"On the loan front, George Friend will be staying for another month and Roy O'Donovan will be going back to Sunderland."
Former Blues loanee Dorian Dervite was present at the game today, but Tilson was quick to play down any speculation of an immediate return.
"Dorian asked if he could come to the game, so I gave him the best seat in the house in the director's box," he said.
"I would love to have him back here, but because he won't sign a new contract at Tottenham, they won't let him out on loan to anyone, so there's nothing more in it than that."
