Southend United will once again be without defender Jean-Yves M'Voto for Saturday's trip to Stockport County.

M'Voto, currently on loan at Sunderland, has missed United's last two matches with a hip injury.

The Frenchman returned to the Stadium of Light earlier this week for the Black Cats medical staff to assess the problem.

And he is set to return to Essex next week once his bruising has settled down.

Meanwhile, winger Damian Scannell is available again having recovered from an ankle problem that saw him miss out against Oldham and Brentford.

Assistant boss Paul Brush has hinted that Blues could be set to make changes ahead of the Hatters clash.

United have lost their last two league matches and are currently 14th in League One on 11 points.
