Steve Tilson vented his frustration at the decision to award Brentford a last minute penalty, which saw the Blues suffer a 2-1 defeat.
The Blues chief had seen Southend United take an early lead, but two penalties awarded to the hosts allowed Brentford to claim the three points.
And Tilson admitted that the loss was a bitter pill to swallow.
"The second penalty for Brentford was never a penalty in a million years," Steve told Blues Player.
"The referee has given a foul by Franck Moussa, but he has clearly got the ball and I could see that from where I was sitting.
"I'm not sure how he has given it.
"A draw at Brentford would not have been a bad result, but to lose the game in that manner at the death is very hard to take.
"For Brentford's first penalty, we gave the ball away in the middle of the park and then Osei Sankofa has dived in when he should have stayed on his feet.
"We pressed the self destruct button there a little bit and it's disappointing, because I really didn't feel like they were threatening us up until then.
"To be honest, we weren't really threatening them either, but we didn't have to and I thought we were looking comfortable.
"We are getting some bad decisions going against us right now, but all the moaning and groaning in the world at the referee is not going to change the result, so we just have to get on with things."
