Southend United boss Steve Tilson has doubts over the fitness of defender Jean-Yves M'Voto going in to tonight's match with Brentford.

M'Voto, currently on loan at Roots Hall from Sunderland, missed Saturday's 1-0 defeat against Oldham with a hip injury.

Test on Monday confirmed that the Frenchman has bruised his hip, which could mean Simon Francis continues alongside Adam Barrett.

Meanwhile, United winger Damian Scannell missed Saturday's game with an ankle problem.

The former Eastleigh midfielder has had his season blighted by injury problems and failed to make the bench against the Latics.

Manager Tilson could make changes for the trip to Griffin Park following a lacklustre 1-0 defeat at the weekend.
