Striker Alex Revell is hoping his first start of the season at Hull City on Tuesday night is the first of many to come.
The Blues forward was on the bench for the opening five games of the new season before being given the nod against the Tigers.
And Revell is now desperate to remain more involved.
"It was nice to get back into the team and I thought I did well," said Revell who was unable to stop his side suffering a 3-1 defeat.
"It had been a bit frustrating being on the bench so it was nice to get a full game and I want to keep on getting better from here to hopefully get more appearances."
Revell's outing at the KC Stadium was also his first competitive start since breaking his leg against Leyton Orient last January.
The forward has worked tirelessly to regain full fitness and is now delighted to be back.
"It was my first proper start since being back and that meant a lot to me," said Revell.
"I was tiring a bit towards the end but that's to be expected.
"It's hard to keep up your match fitness when you're not playing because running around the edge of a pitch is completely different to running around on it.
"Pre-season is also different, but I'm getting there and feeling good again."
Revell was also boosted by Blues' display at Hull as they more than matched their Premier League hosts and dominated most of the second half.
"For 75 minutes we were the better team and their goalkeeper had to make some fantastic saves," said the 26-year-old.
"In the end Hull had to bring on their more experienced players to make sure of the win which was a big compliment to us.
"It was another good performance and we've been playing well all season really.
"We should already have had two or three league wins under our belt but we're still unbeaten and looking more solid than last season.
"If we can keep it going then the wins will come, hopefully at Swindon on Saturday."
