Southend United midfielder Franck Moussa is certain his side will soon triumph in the league - if they maintain the standard of Tuesday night's showing at Hull City.

Blues bossed large parts of the Carling Cup clash at the KC Stadium before eventually suffering a 3-1 defeat.

But Moussa, who scored Southend's goal in the reverse, believes his team-mates will soon be rewarded for their good displays.

"If we keep on playing like that and keep on working that hard then we will win games," Franck told Blues Player after the game.

"We played well at Hull and had times when we were really on top. We didn't take our chances though and they took three of theirs which was disappointing but there wasn't much between the teams.

"There are positives to take from that and if we can do that again in our own league then we will get plenty of good results."
