HULL AWAIT IN CUP

Southend United have been drawn away to Premier League outfit Hull City in the second round of the Carling Cup this evening.

The draw, made tonight following the completion of round one games, has seen the Blues paired against Hull at the KC Stadium.

United progressed to the second stage thanks to a 2-1 win against Cheltenham Town at Whaddon Road yesterday.

United trailed to the League Two side before Lee Barnard scored twice late on to set up a tie against the Tigers.

Matches are due to be played week commencing Monday, August 24.
