Southend United will be unseeded in the Carling Cup second round draw tonight.

Victory over Cheltenham Town at Whaddon Road last night booked Blues place in the draw, which involves 13 Premier League sides.

The draw will take place live on Sky Sports News (approx 10.15pm) following the conclusion of this evening's three fixtures.

The second round teams have been split into 25 seeds and 25 non-seeds. The seedings are based on last season's final league placings.

Seeded teams will be drawn against non-seeded teams, but there is no longer a north/south divide. Non-seeded sides will be pre-drawn into home or away slots - and seeded sides will then be plucked from the hat to fill the gaps.

Ties are due to be played in the week commencing Monday, August 24th.
