Southend United are pleased to announce further details for our 2009 Meet The Blues Day, where supporters will have the chance to meet Steve Tilson and their favourite first team players.
For the first time, the event will be held at Roots Hall on Sunday July 26th and is the ideal opportunity for fans to come and collect autographs and have their photo taken alongside the Blues squad members.
A number of exciting family activities will be taking place in the Roots Hall car park throughout the day with a whole host of inflatables, competitions, face painting and refreshment stalls, and much more.
Entry is free of charge from 9:30am to sample the fun and games, with Steve Tilson meeting the fans at 10am before the players arrive from 12pm.
There will also be the exclusive unveiling of the new Southend United away kit for the 2009/10 season, which can be purchased on the day, as well as the chance to watch the future of the football club in action when Southend's under-12 team play an exhibition match Arsenal's under-12s at 1:15pm.
Due to limited space, car parking will not be available on site at Roots Hall, but arrangements and modes of transport have been organised to make sure supporters will be able to attend the event in the easiest way possible.
The Civic Centre will have pay and display parking and Prospects College in Southend will be opening their car park on the day. We also are hoping to secure extra parking at Southend High School for Boys and Chase School, with more information to follow.
Toomey Southend Automotive Retail Park, who are Essex's largest car dealership in Rochford, will be offering a free park and ride service on the day.
The shuttle bus will be leaving Toomey in Cherry Orchard Way, Rochford, on the hour mark every hour (from 9am) and will be leaving Roots Hall on the half hour until 5.30pm. See the map below for full directions.

The usual local bus services will be running throughout the day across Essex and the train services will also be arriving at Southend Victoria at regular intervals.
There will plenty of street parking around Roots Hall on the day and for more details on how to get to the ground click HERE.
