TILSON: ALL ABOUT THE RESULT

Posted on: Sun 05 Oct 2008

Steve Tilson admitted Southend were poor but it was all about the result as Blues made it four wins in a row at Yeovil.

The United chief admitted that the team didn't play as well as they could have and had to dig in at times, but he was delighted with the three points at Huish Park.

A first half penalty from Lee Barnard and Hal Robson-Kanu's winner late on were enough to earn United the three points despite a late scare.

And Steve told Blues World: "It's a great result for us, even though if I'm honest, it was not a great performance.

"We didn't play as well as I would have liked us too.

"We also didn't get the ball down and play as I would have liked to have seen, but the conditions didn't make it easy

"At times our goalkeeper Adam has kept us in the match with some good saves.

"We certainly dug in for the win and I couldn't fault the lad's effort today.

"They say it is the sign of a good side when you can win without playing well.

"I couldn't be happier, as Yeovil is a very hard place to come.

"That is now four wins in a row and we want to keep it going."
