Southend chief Steve Tilson may decide to rest several of his key players for Saturday's match with Port Vale.

The fifth placed Blues have already confirmed their position in the play-offs and cannot finish any higher.

And that means that boss Tilson is considering making changes to his team to face the Valiants ahead of the two semi-finals.

Among those pushing for a start are young midfielder Franck Moussa, winger Damian Scannell - who bagged a hat-trick for the reserves at Stevenage on Monday - fit again striker Hal Robson-Kanu and forward Gary Hooper.

United may also decide to rest in form striker Lee Barnard who sat out last weekend's 1-0 defeat at Tranmere Rovers with a slight calf problem.

Blues will be without defenders Lewis Hunt (hernia) and Che Wilson (Achilles) tomorrow and Richie Foran (knee).

Supporters are reminded to keep off the pitch at the final whistle, failure to comply could result in Police banning orders.

Manager Steve Tilson's side will return to the pitch at full-time for a lap of honour ahead of the first leg of the play-offs.
