INQUIRY CLOSING - SHOW YOUR SUPPORT

Posted on: Thu 11 Oct 2007

Southend's supporters are once again being asked to show their backing for the Blues new stadium ahead of next weeks Public Inquiry closing.

United's application for a new 22,000 all-seater stadium at Fossetts Farm has been heard over the past three weeks - lasting a total of five and a half days - before adjourning ahead of Tuesday's closing statements.

And on Tuesday, starting at 2pm, the Club's Barrister - Christopher Lockhart-Mummery QC - will commence the Club's case at Southend Council Chambers .

Blues Chairman Ron Martin has already encouraged supporters to email their support to the Government Office, with an overwhelming response having been received.

With hundreds of fans having turned out on the opening day the Club are requesting once again that fans gather in numbers once more to show their support.

"I know, once again, that Tuesday is a work and school day for the majority but if you can make yourself available - in colours - to march to the Civic Centre to just listen to the closing statement as a final show of support for your Club it will make a big difference," said Chairman Martin.

"Let's push this over the line and make Southend proud!"

Supporters can park at Roots Hall and will need to be ready to leave at 1.30pm. The Inquiry will close at about 3.30pm.

All the Players and Management - Steve Tilson, Paul Brush and the backroom staff - plus Directors will also be there.
