Southend United's long awaited Planning Inquiry begins on Tuesday morning to consider our New Stadium application at Fossetts Farm. The Government's Planning Inspectorate will convene at Southend's Civic Centre to consider United's plans for a brand new 22,000 all-seater stadium.
Included in the application are Hotel and Conference facilities along with a retail aspect.
The Club have already received the backing of both Southend Borough Council and Rochford Council in January earlier this year.
And now the application will be considered at a Public Inquiry starting on Tuesday morning, lasting anything up to 16 days.
The Shrimpers Trust is rallying supporters to attend the start of the Inquiry and show the fans backing for the application.
"A Trust representative will be giving a presentation during the inquiry process," commented a Trust spokesperson.
"We are also attempting to coordinate a show of support at the inquiry venue.
"Ideally this should be at the start of the inquiry with people staying around until perhaps lunchtime.
"We want those considering the application are left in no doubt that the majority of the people in Southend are in favour of the new stadium.
"It's not a very convenient time for the workers amongst us, but this is a one-off chance - there really isn't going to be second chance."
The Inquiry starts on Tuesday, September 25, at 9.15am.
