Southend United Community Trust held their first Drumming Workshop at St Mary's Primary School in Southend and it proved to be a big success amongst the children.
The Trust held two hour-long sessions to 30 children each from year 5 and year 6, who were all able to play on the electronic drums at the same time, which helps with their listening skills, communication, team work and co-ordination.
Community Coach Ben Duncan said: "Each group had 60 minutes of fun and inspirational drumming sessions on the newest electronic drum kits with the help of Paul Dean, a local drum and percussion tutor.
"The children experienced a variety of drumming and musical styles which concluded with them making up their own football chants. The afternoon was a great success with everyone taking part at the same time and having lots of fun.
"Our aim is to run other workshops and further develop our work within arts and music in the community."
