FIT FOR LIFE CLASSES

Posted on: Fri 14 May 2010

Are you still fit enough to do the gardening, strong enough to carry a bucket of water or flexible enough to reach your toes?

In later life, daily tasks such as these are a good way of indicating whether we are as fit as we could be.

Southend United Community and Educational Trust, together with Rochford District Council, are running Fit for Life - a five week programme designed to encourage everyone over 50 to gradually become more physically active.

The new programme is starting on Thursday June 10th at The Old Fire Station in Hockley, with each session costing only £1 from 2pm - 3pm.

Each week, the hour-long class will include information about how and why it is important to stay fit and healthy in later life, followed by a group activity.

Week 2 - Fitness Walking
Week 3 - Stretching
Week 4 - Toning
Week 5 - Core Stability

To book your space on the course or for more information, please call Sarah Potts on 01702 341351.
