Southend United have teamed up with fundraising organisation Football Aid to allow supporters to play on the Roots Hall pitch with the inaugural "Live the Dream" experience.

Football Aid allows fans of teams to get even closer to the side they support.

Fans will get the opportunity to pull on a personalised shirt in one of Roots Hall's changing rooms, run down the tunnel and step onto the hallowed turf.

You will also be graced with former Southend United legends to play or manage your team.

Funds generated from the game are split between fantastic charitable causes; Southend United's nominated charity, and Football Aid's parent charity, Field of Dreams, helping to raise money and awareness for Type 1 Diabetes.

"We are delighted to be working with Southend United for what we are sure will be a superb event," said David Dale, Executive Director of Football Aid.

"With Southend expecting to move into their new stadium in the next couple of years this is a fantastic opportunity for Blues' supporters to grace the turf of Roots Hall, and in turn raise funds for charity"

Although the transfer window has now closed, you can still become your clubs latest signing, by adding your name to the teamsheet at Roots Hall.
