Youth: Host families wanted for our academy players

Posted: Wed 15 Jun 2016

Southend United Football Club is seeking to recruit accommodation providers in the local area for the 2016-17 season.

The accommodation is required for our young professional football apprentices and we are looking for good quality lodgings in an area which provides a safe residential setting for them to live, whilst taking part in their weekly training schedule.  Good access links to our training ground at Boots & Laces and to Roots Hall are essential.

The players would require their own room, have access to a bathroom and be provided with nutritional breakfasts and evening meals and have their training kit washed for them.

For further information please contact the youth department at youth@southend-united.co.uk.

Southend United Football Club is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all accommodation providers to share this commitment. As such appropriate vetting through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) will be necessary. This role requires Enhanced Criminal Records Checks and checks against the Barred Lists and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act(1974),therefore all convictions including spent convictions that have not been subject to filtering by the DBS should be declared. Clearance for work in football is through The FACRB system. Two written references will also be required and in addition applicants will need to demonstrate that the accommodation meets certain safety standards.
