Phil Brown is looking forward to seeing Roots Hall full for the visit of Hull City in the FA Cup fourth round on Saturday.
Blues’ boss can’t wait to take on his former club in front of over 10,000, and hopes the fans can spur his team on to cup glory.
He said: “When I first came to the club I said I wanted to see a packed Roots Hall with not a seat spare.
“That’s going to be the case on Saturday afternoon and it should make for an unbelievable cup tie.
“With over 10,000 there, all hoping to see their team progress to the fifth round of the competition, it should be magnificent.
“We’ve had some big games already this season, like York City and Millwall, and the fans have really helped us get over the winning line.”
With a bumper crowd expected, and the possibility of a cup upset, Brown believes the magic of the FA Cup is alive and well.
“I experienced some fabulous moments in the FA Cup as a player,” he added. “There is nothing like the FA Cup.
“The atmosphere at Roots Hall won’t be the same as any league game, all around the country, games in the FA Cup create a special feel around the place.
“We experienced some of that magic against Millwall but if we can do it again against Hull City it will be brilliant.
“I’d like to say a big thank you to all supporters who have purchased tickets for the game. I look forward to seeing them all at Roots Hall on Saturday.”
