Graham Coughlan is expecting a tough game away to Oxford but is confident Blues can bounce back from defeat to Millwall.
The 1-0 reverse at The Den was just the second defeat Blues have tasted in 18 games.
And that resilience is what makes Coughlan upbeat of picking up some points on the road at the U’s.
“It’s a decent opportunity to bounce back,” he said.
“They’re in form having won three on the bounce and they’re a decent team.
“Kane Hemmings came back for them on Saturday who is a dangerous player and a goalscorer, so the options are there for them to make changes.
“It will be a good game between two good teams and I’m really looking forward to it.”
Southend have lost one in eight meetings at the Kassam Stadium.
And Blues' Assistant Manager is hoping for more of that good form tomorrow night.
“We’re confident at the minute,” he added. “We’re in a good place both individually and collectively.
“We’re looking forward to games instead of approaching them with apprehension.
“We’re going into games on the front foot and looking to win every game. It’s been a tough run of fixtures in the last six weeks.
“We’ve played some of the top teams and come out well. You want to be involved in these types of games.”
