Southend United are asking supporters to vote for their DeVines Player of the Month for December.
Blues maintained their unbeaten record in the final month of 2016, which saw them only drop points against Charlton in a 1-1 draw.
Wins over Coventry, Oldham and AFC Wimbledon propelled Blues up the League One table although there was disappointment in the Checkatrade Trophy in a penalty shoot-out defeat against Oxford.
You can choose from the following four candidates as your standout player…
• Anton Ferdinand
• Simon Cox
• Adam Thompson
• Ryan Leonard
Anton Ferdinand continued his assured influence at the heart of the defence, helping the team to two clean sheets and only two goals conceded.
Simon Cox's three goals in the month took his tally for the season to seven. An impressive double against AFC Wimbledon followed five days later with a fine solo effort against Charlton.
Adam Thompson marked his 100th appearance for the club against AFC Wimbledon with a clean sheet, and, like Ferdinand, takes huge credit for the defensive discipline the team is showing.
Finally, Ryan Leonard played every game in December, taking his tally to 30 appearances for the season already. His defensive diligence combined with starting attacks at the base of midfield was crucial throughout the month.
